Community Workshop for Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail Projects Coming Soon

Have you been waiting for a rail trail or a coastal trail? Have you been wanting to walk or get around by bike on a path separated from car traffic? Planning for the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network is underway and public workshops will be held this December. The broad project encompasses plans for a rail trail adjacent to the operational rail line, a coastal trail, as well as spur trails connecting primary alignments to neighborhoods, schools, commercial centers and other key destinations. Join us on December 13th, 14th or 15th from 6-8pm in North, mid and South County locations to view maps showing preliminary alignments and share your ideas about where the trail should go and on ways to serve different populations like joggers, wheelchair users, bicycle commuters, the elderly, parents with strollers – all of whom travel at different speeds. For more information, view the project webpage or contact Cory Caletti at 831.460.3201.
