Public Hearing Notice: Funding for Transportation Projects & 2014 RTIP Adoption

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is seeking public input on projects proposed for over $14 million in federal and state funds as part of adoption of the 2014 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP). A public hearing selecting projects to receive funds and adopting the RTIP will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the County of Santa Cruz Board of Supervisors Chambers, 701 Ocean St, Santa Cruz.

Projects recommended for funds include:

  • Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network (MBSST) – Sections of the Rail Trail in Santa Cruz and Watsonville
  • Road preservation – rehabilitation, cape seals, chip seals
  • Mt. Hermon Rd/Scotts Valley Dr Intersection
  • Bay Ave/Capitola Ave Roundabout
  • Airport Blvd modifications (Watsonville)
  • Highway 1 projects
  • Bus – mainline service planning
  • Paratransit – new vans
  • Freeway Service Patrol tow truck service
