Volunteer bike and ped surveyors needed

This May, a community-wide effort to observe behavior and count trips of bicycle riders and pedestrians will be conducted. Information collected by volunteers will be used to help plan facilities that support sustainable transportation. The RTC is coordinating with the Community Traffic Safety Coalition (CTSC) to incorporate a nationally recognized bicycle and pedestrian count methodology into their bicycle observation survey. Volunteers to count bike riders and pedestrians are being assembled by the RTC on May 15th, May 16th, and May 17th from 4-6 pm at 10 locations across the county. The CTSC is gathering volunteers to conduct bike safety observations at 41 locations across the county from May 15-31 at varying times. Find out more about the project on our Data and Statistics page.
