Trail Network Master Plan and Environmental Impact Report Adopted

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) adopted the Final Master Plan for the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail Network (Trail Network) project and certified the Final Environmental Impact Report. The Master Plan defines the “rail trail,” a bicycle and pedestrian trail adjacent to the Santa Cruz Branch rail line right-of-way, as the spine of a broader network of trails that will provide connections to activity centers, coastal access points and other key destinations. Hardcopies and electronic versions of the adopted Final Master Plan will be available once minor changes, consistent with the RTC’s direction, are made. The version presented to the board is available for download here. Hardcopies and CDs will also be available at the Santa Cruz and Watsonville RTC offices and at the Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Watsonville public libraries.
