RTC Historic Steam Train Special – July 11, 2014

A community gathering to enjoy and celebrate the Branch Rail Line.RTC, Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad, the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay Railway invite you to take a ride with the original Santa Cruz Portland Cement Company Engine No. 2, coming home to the Santa Cruz Mountains! This 105 year old Steam Train has been restored, fired up, and will be chugging through the streets of Santa Cruz. The Chiggen, named after the chicken restaurant it once advertised, will depart from the Boardwalk on Friday, July 11 and from Roaring Camp Railroads on July 12–13. This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to ride a Steam Train through Santa Cruz!

11:30 am Welcome and History
12:00 pm Steam Train departs from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (400 Beach St) for an excursion up to the edge of Wilder Ranch, returning to Depot Park
1:00 pm Steam Train returns to Depot Park
1:00-4:00 pm Train on display, photos, public viewing

Three-hour excursions aboard the Steam Train will also run from the Redwoods in Felton to the edge of Wilder Ranch north of Santa Cruz on July 12 and 13 at 10:30 and 2:30 for $35.
