About the artist:

“I have been an amateur photographer for decades.  A 2012 life threatening diagnosis of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer ultimately led to a 2015 liver transplant and a new chance at life. Unable to continue working in my corporate global logistics career, I medically retired and dedicated my time to advancing my photographic skills.

My current focus is on the power and grace of birds and flight–including but not limited to raptors, condors, hummingbirds, great blue herons, white egrets and pelicans.

Though I remain primarily a photographer and artist, my desire is to capture the moments that express the joy for our natural world and to share my images in order to encourage creativity, spark ideas, and trigger emotions.” – Mark Holsapple
