FINAL DRAFT 2040 Regional Transportation Plan

As the transportation planning agency for Santa Cruz County, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and regularly updating the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for Santa Cruz County. The RTP serves as our region’s long range transportation plan and provides guidance for decisions about transportation spending priorities.

The RTC has released the following draft 2040 RTP for public review and comment.  The public review and comment period began on December 8, 2017 and ended on February 5, 2018 and a public hearing was held at the January 18, 2018 RTC meetingThe FINAL DRAFT 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan will be brought to the Commission for review at the April 5, 2018 RTC meeting. The FINAL 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan is scheduled for approval in June, 2018.

Draft Environmental Impact Report

  • The environmental review of the 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan is combined with the environmental review of the 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP-SCS) and the RTPs of Monterey and San Benito Counties in the 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR
  • The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) released the draft 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR for public review and comment on December 4, 2017. A public hearing was held in Live Oak on January 30, 2018 and the public comment period ended on February 5, 2018. The draft EIR is available on the AMBAG website.
