Final 2040 Regional Transportation Plan

As the transportation planning agency for Santa Cruz County, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and regularly updating the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for Santa Cruz County. The RTP serves as our region’s long range transportation plan and provides guidance for decisions about transportation spending priorities.

The draft 2040 RTP was available for public review and comment between December 8, 2017 and February 5, 2018 and a public hearing was held at the January 18, 2018 RTC meetingThe Final Draft 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan was accepted by the Commission at the April 5, 2018 RTC meeting. The Final 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan was approved at the June 14, 2018 RTC meeting.

Draft Environmental Impact Report

  • The environmental review of the 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan is combined with the environmental review of the 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP-SCS) and the RTPs of Monterey and San Benito Counties in the 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR
  • The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) released the draft 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR for public review and comment on December 4, 2017. A public hearing was held in Live Oak on January 30, 2018 and the public comment period ended on February 5, 2018. The Final EIR is available on the AMBAG website. The Final EIR was certified by AMBAG on June 13, 2018 and adopted by the RTC on June 14, 2018.
