DRAFT 2040 Regional Transportation Plan

As the transportation planning agency for Santa Cruz County, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and regularly updating the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for Santa Cruz County. The RTP serves as our region’s long range transportation plan and provides guidance for decisions about transportation spending priorities.

The RTC has released the following draft 2040 RTP for public review and comment.  The public review and comment period begins on December 8, 2017 and ends on February 5, 2018.

A public hearing will be held at 9:30 am at the January 18, 2018 RTC meeting located at the City of Santa Cruz Council Chambers, 809 Center St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.


Draft Environmental Impact Report

  • The environmental review of the 2040 Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Plan is combined with the environmental review of the 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP-SCS) and the RTPs of Monterey and San Benito Counties in the 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR
  • The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) released the 2040 MTP-SCS/RTP EIR for public review and comment on December 4, 2017. The EIR is available on the AMBAG website. The public review and comment period will end on February 5, 2018. A public hearing for the Draft EIR will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Live Oak Community Complex (Simpkins), 979 17th Street, Santa Cruz.
