Notice of Public Review, Comments and Hearing for Draft 2021 Monterey Bay Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP)

The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments (AMBAG) invites the public to comment on the Draft 2021 Monterey Bay Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program: FFY 2020-21 to 2023-24 (2021 MTIP). The Draft 2021 MTIP is the short range federally-mandated transportation programming document for transportation projects in Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito Counties that are expected to receive federal funds, are subject to a federally required action, or are regionally significant need to be included in the MTIP, including public transit, highway, bridge, local road, bicycle and pedestrian projects. The public review and comments period for the Draft 2021 MTIP starts on November 12, 2020 and ends on December 11, 2020. Written comments may be submitted to Sasha Tepedelenova, AMBAG Office at: 24580 Silver Cloud Court, Monterey, CA 93940, faxed at 831-883-3755 or e-mailed to stepe@ambag.org. Written comments must be received at AMBAG no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020.

A public hearing to receive public testimony on this document is set for Wednesday, November 18, 2020 no sooner than 6:00 p.m. (PDT) during the AMBAG Board of Directors meeting, which will be conducted by webinar. The AMBAG Board of Directors meeting will NOT be held in person and board members will participate in the meeting from individual remote locations, consistent with Governor Newsom’s State of Emergency declaration regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and in accordance with Executive Order N-29-20 and the shelter in place directives. The meeting will be conducted via GoToWebinar and members of the public will need to attend the meeting remotely via GoToWebinar.

Persons who wish to address the AMBAG Board of Directors on the 2021 MTIP or another item to be considered at this meeting are asked to submit comments in writing at info@ambag.org by 5:00 PM, Tuesday, November 17, 2020.  The subject line should read “Public Comment for the November 18, 2020 Board of Directors Meeting”.  The agency clerk will read up to 3 minutes of any public comment submitted.
