Public Input Sought on Transportation Projects Proposed for $17 Million in State and Federal Funds

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) will hold a public hearing to solicit community input on transportation projects proposed for approximately $17 million in regional shares of state and federal funding. The hearing will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 701 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz. The hearing will begin no sooner than 10:00 a.m. and will be preceded by a staff presentation.

Projects proposed for these new funds include:

  • Local road preservation – pavement repairs
  • Bicycle and sidewalk projects
  • New Santa Cruz METRO ParaCruz vans
  • Highway 1/9 intersection improvements
  • Highway 1 auxiliary lane projects from Soquel Drive to State Park

A full list of projects proposed by the County of Santa Cruz, the cities of Capitola, Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Watsonville, Santa Cruz Metro Transit District, and RTC are available online at: Projects approved for funds by the RTC will be included in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

Public input for the RTC’s consideration of the projects proposed for funds is welcomed and encouraged.
